Vishakhapatnum, also known as Vizag, is located on the eastern coast of India in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Vishakhapatnum is an important port and with a lovely beach along the Bay of Bengal. A centre for the shipbuilding industry, and oil refineries, the region has vast stretches of unexplored beaches. A city with a thriving business community, it is now becoming popular as a holiday resort, facilitated by the arrival of hotels, which offer a variety of leisure facilities. We are a leading travel agent for India and offer complete travel and tour services to Vishakhapatnum
Some of the important tourist sites in Vishakhapatnum are:
In the port area, the multi-national crew of the ships anchored in the harbor can be seen moving around. You can see the overhead conveyor belt carrying mineral ore towards container ships while with a shrill hoot another ship leaves the port. The port has a road network of 52 km, and the Port Railways has a network of 230 km tracks with 19 siding points. Visiting Vishakhapatnum without a visit to the port would be like visiting Agra and not seeing the Taj.
India's largest ship building yard is located at Gandhigram in Vishakhapatnum. The yard makes all types of cargo-vessels, naval ships and passenger liners and a trip there is really educative especially for children.
The other place that attracts large crowds is Vishakhapatnum's famed fish market. Buyers can be seen haggling over the bewildering variety of fresh catch spread around.
A familiar landmark at Vishakhapatnum is the Dolphin's Nose rocky ridge prominently projecting into the sea. A powerful beacon of a lighthouse set on Dolphin's Nose directs ships 65 kilometres away.

The Ross Hill is the highest point in Vizag. It is named after a Monsieur Ross, who built a house here in 1864. The house was later converted into a chapel, which was named ‘Our lady of the Sacred Heart’. There is also a mosque and a temple nearby. The hill offers a spectacular view of the ship building yard and the port channel.
Kailashgiri is another vantage point in Vizag from where one can get a magnificent view of the Vizag beach.
The Ramakrishna Beach is one of the loveliest beaches of the city and a hot favorite with the tourists. Another favorite beach in Vishakhapatnum is the Lawson's Bay.
Some other attractions of Vishakhapatnum are the Caltex Oil Refinery (8 km away from Vishakhapatnum), VUDA Park, MCV Museum and Indira Gandhi Zoological Park.
The main markets of Vishakhapatnum are at Waltair Uplands, Jagdamba Junction and Poorna Market. Vishakhapatnum is also famous for its softwood toys made of anukudu wood. Their beauty lies in their delicate and skilful carving done from a single piece of wood.
There are no festivals or fairs that are unique to Vishakhapatnum though the important festivals of Andhra Pradesh like Sankranti, Ugadi, Attlathaddi, Bonalu and Batukamma are all celebrated here with much enthusiasm.
