Travel Agent for Lakshadweep

The islands of Lakshadweep are an inviting holiday destination for nature lovers. With soft beaches and plenty of sun, this group of 35 islands with lush green landscape and beautiful beaches is known for its diving and snorkeling facilities. We, as principal Travel Agents for India, offer you reliable travel and tour services to this beautiful island territory.

It is believed that the Lakshadweep islands have been formed due to coral activity. These coral reefs give each of these islands and the sea around them, a unique colour and beauty. The smallest of all Indian Union Territories, Lakshadweep is safely tucked away from the cacophony of modernisation.

The major tourist centers in Lakshadweep are:

The Bangaram Island has been developed as a tourist center and is the only island open to tourists, besides certain other specified islands where day visits are permitted. However, Indian nationals can also visit some other islands like Kavaratti, Minicoy, Agatti, Androt, and Kalpeni. Facilities for snorkelling, scuba diving, sea bathing and picnics on the nearby islands are available on this island.

Bitra is the smallest island with the largest lagoon in the Union Territory. The lagoon is famous for the green turtle and the hawk bill.

The Kadmat Island was the last island to be inhabited. Tourist huts at Kadmat let you enjoy the pleasures of the island’s large even depthed lagoon.

Kalpeni has three uninhabited satellite islands and is surrounded by a lagoon of spectacular beauty.

Minicoy, the largest and southernmost island has the largest lagoon. Minicoy’s culture is very different from the other islands since its location is on all major trade routes and exposes it to greater contact with the outside world.

Kavaratti is the most important island of the group. It has narrow concrete roads that can accommodate a car at a time. The people of Kavaratti seem to be more skilled than other islanders, if the intricate woodcarvings in the Ujjra Mosque are any indication. On the island is a museum that has an exhaustive display of marine life.

Agatti is situated at the western end of the islands and is the nearest to Bangaram. The reefs around this island form ellipses with a singularly beautiful lagoon. There are five flights a week from Agatti to Cochin.

Androt does not have any lagoons, and except for its northeastern extremity, it is surrounded by flat coral reefs that are visible at low tide.

The two satellite islands of Pirali One and Pirali Two lie off Bangaram. It takes half an hour to zip across in a speedboat. The isolation of these small-uninhabited islands is a refreshing change.

A trip to the reef flats at low tide is a thoroughly novel experience, for attached to rocks or stones you will find the exotic hydroids, sponges, corals and sea anemones. You will also get a privileged glimpse of sea stars, sea urchins, sand dollars and sea cucumbers that are trapped between the tides, sheltering under boulders or in shallow pools.

A holiday in the Lakshadweep is a lackadaisical and peaceful experience that will linger in you mind over the years. If you have any queries regarding travel bookings or holiday tour packages, or need any travel assistance, please fill in the form given at the end of this page and send it to us.
