Besides the wonderful marble rocks, the main attractions of this place are the two wildlife reserves, namely, Kanha and Bandhavgarh. Both these national parks have been playing an immense role in preserving some of the rare animal species of the country.

Built in AD 1116, the Madan Mahal Fort is an important landmark of Jabalpur. Situated on a hilly terrain to the west of the city, the famous Gond king Madan Shah built this fort. The fort provides a picturesque view of the nearby areas.
The Rani Durgavati Museum of Jabalpur houses a number of fine archaeological findings and sculptures of a bygone era. It is situated to the south of the marketplace just near the tempo stand. The Mahatma Gandhi section has a lot of exhibits related to the father of the nation.
The Tilwara Ghat is another important site of Jabalpur. The ashes of Mahatma Gandhi are believed to have been immersed in this particular place.

The magnificent marble rocks lie just 22 km west of Jabalpur. The white rocks with black dark green volcanic seams raise upwards as much as 30 metres on both side of the river Narmada. Also known as Bheraghat, the rocks offer a marvellous sight especially on full-moon days.
Dhuandhar Falls, situated just 1.5 km from the marble rocks, is a site worth visiting. Created naturally, the waterfall is at the end of the gorge. The white waters of the Narmada River falling from a great height are a treat to the eyes.
Situated at a distance of 22 km from the main town area, Chausath Yogini Mandir is a famous temple of Jabalpur. As the name suggests, this temple is regarded to be a temple of 64 goddesses of Hindu religion or mythology. The place also offers a good view of the surroundings.
Jabalpur is the ideal base for visiting the Kanha National Park. Situated at a distance of 160 km southeast of Jabalpur, the Kanha National Park is famous for tigers and leopards apart from sambhar, chital, barasingha, deer, and gaur (Indian bison). It is also a favourite haunt for the birdwatchers.
Situated at a distance of 197 km from Jabalpur amidst the Vindhya ranges, Bandhavgarh is an important wildlife reserve of the country. Although Bandhavgarh National Park is smaller in size than Kanha, it has a higher density of wild cats.
